Position:            METRO OFFICER

Description           

A Metro Officer is a highly-trained armed security officer assigned to an executive protection detail or private party.  Metro Officers serve for the length and duration of the assigned shift of the private party or detail. All personnel at Gates Security must be trustworthy, dependable, and “Prepared to Protect.”

Responsibilities

1. Provide crowd control at special events and private parties
2. Write crime or incident reports and make arrests
3. Remove or resolve unwanted persons or problems
4. Supervise and manage car/pedestrian traffic through access points or entrances
5. Assist law enforcement officials as directed or needed
6. Testify in court or legal proceedings as needed

Executive Protection Officers:

1. Local and international travel with client as needed
2. Protection of principal and family at home or while traveling
3. Round-the-clock protection of high profile targets
4. Provide a privacy buffer zone with press and paparazzi

Requirements

1. Paid or volunteer experience in law enforcement or security
2. Must have a minimum of one of the following Police Officers Standards and Training (POST) certifications: PC832 Laws of Arrest with PC832 Firearms, POST Reserve Training Mod A/B/C/D, or POST Basic Certificate
3. Possession of BSIS permits for security guard and exposed firearm
4. Graduation from approved Bodyguard or Personal Protection school (Executive Protection Officers Only)
5. CPR and First Aid certifications
6. Completion of tactical firearms courses (Front Sight, Thunder Ranch, etc.)
7. High school diploma

Highly Recommended

1. Active sworn peace officer status or honorably retired peace officer status with concealed weapons permit issued by an agency in the State of California
2. Associate’s Degree or higher in security related discipline
3. Advanced First Aid, Lifeguard, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certifications
4. Automatic External Deliberator (AED) training and certification
5. Military experience, with emphasis on law enforcement
